Republican Board Of Commissioners Accomplishments

Under the dedicated guidance of the Republican East Pennsboro Township Commissioners, residents have witnessed a transformative period of achievement in recent years, solidifying the township’s reputation as an exceptional place to live, work, and play. A strategic focus on infrastructure modernization, community enrichment, and sustainable growth has yielded a remarkable number of accomplishments that enhance the quality of life for all.

  • Erford Road Bridge over the bypass widened to 3 lanes with sidewalks
  • Turned over $1 million dollars of delinquent sewer and trash fees to collections. The delinquency rate is now at a normal manageable average.
  • Actively lobbied PennDOT to Withdraw the plan to Toll the South Bridge
  • Facilitated the preservation of the Enola Miller House to a one acre lot that we negotiated to get donated from the Capital Area Intermediate Unit. The move was required to be done by the developer at no expense to the Township
  • Preserved the last remaining farm in the Township
  • Pedestrian Bridge Constructed at Adams Ricci Park. Over 3 million dollars obtained in grant money. Led the project from start to completion.
  • Solar Farm constructed on S Humer Street will significantly reduce our township electric expenses.
  • We are actively pursuing all available grant money with good success on many projects
  • Initiated a proactive Roadway Management Plan

East Pennsboro Republican School Board Strategic Direction

Our Strategic direction is to compliment the current work being done by our current board. We look to continue to make East Pennsboro School District distinctive within Central Pennsylvania. Building upon Safety, Educational and extra curricular activities and to engaging with the community to showcase our unique position within our Township. Some of the highlights that we will build upon:

  • No Cell Phone policy at the elementary and middle school levels along with restricted use at the high school
  • Building scores at the high school level are at #4 in the central Pennsylvania area – these scores take into consideration, Keystone testing, graduation rates, truancy rates etc.
  • Middle School and Elementary schools building scores have improved and are all above State averages with expected further improvements
  • Delivered consecutive Balanced budgets that did not need a maximum tax increase. In fact, the increases were 58% and 49% of the maximum tax index
  • Improved our S&P outlook from Negative to Stable over the past two years
  • Increased the safety of children in all schools by adding a second SRO (School Resource Officer – Police) and implementing Bus Patrol (Security Cameras to detect traffic violators)
  • Addition of a Girls Varsity Wrestling Team
  • Enhanced our Current Reading Curriculum at the elementary level with a new Learn to Read Program. Early indicators suggest this will significantly boost our learning at this level.
  • Build upon one of the best Special Education Programs in Central Pennsylvania with ‘Coffee Fridays’ and enhancing our Panther Pack(Student Food Bank) program.
  • Enhanced Academic programs by Paying for AP Exams and advanced academic opportunity with Thaddeus Stephens College.
  • Increase in our Music Programs at all levels.

We Look forward to serving our Children in the best way possible by giving them the opportunities to grown and Learn within the East Pennsboro School system.
